Conquer the Concrete The 3RD Annual Larry Pasquini Memorial Conquer the Concrete Competition is a family-friendly street WiffleTM Ball Tournament to be held Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 10am to 4pm. Games will be played in the street at the intersection of Commerce Street and Pearl Avenue in downtown Oshkosh.
Teams of 3 people compete by hitting a WiffleTM ball on a field marked on the street. The rules of play are similar to baseball; however there is no base running. Three outs to retire a side, per inning, six innings per game. A time limit will be established for each game (45 minutes). In case of a tie, additional innings are played. For a complete inning, both sides must bat.
Team registration applications are due by Wednesday April 16, 2008. Teams may consist of adults and kids, 3 kids, or 3 adults. Registration fee is $45 per adult team, $30 for kids' teams eighth grade and younger.
Proceeds from this event will be used by Oshkosh Morning Rotary to 1) grow and develop Conquer the Concrete as a spring community event for the Oshkosh downtown area; 2) support downtown beautification; 3) contribute to community organization(s) and local Oshkosh food pantries, i.e. as part of the entry fee players must provide one food item.
